Tutorial #5 - Bilbo Baggins of the Shire
Had nothing better to do, and I just figured out how to do this. So, I thought I'd write a tutorial.

1. Pick your base
It's best to choose something with a simple background. Like, it doesn't have people in the background and complicated things like that. It's also easier to choose a background that's brighter than the subject, but it doesn't have to be.

You don't have to do anything to it, just resize it.
2. Duplicate the base and set it to screen

3. Now, like I said earlier, I need to make the background brighter than the subject, so I duplicated the base brought it to the top erased Bilbo and set it to screen and duplicated that 4 times (not necessary if you have a bright base)

4. Merge all of that and desaturate it

5. Now I need to make the subject dark, so I duplicated the base and set it to Multiply

6. I wanted to background to be brighter still, so I repeated step 3.

7. I opened a new image and set it to 100x100 and put my picture on top of it and moving it to where I wanted it to be

8. I changed the brightness/contrast to -4 and 48 (varies with the picture, sometimes you need a high brightness)

9. I opened a new layer on top and filled it with #880000 and set it to Multiply

10. And this where it is easier to have a bright background because you could be done by now. Yet alas, since we can still see the background around Bilbo, we have to fix that. We do this by simply selecting our base and erasing it.
Eraser settings: size:11 Hardness:42 Step:1 Opacity:100

11. This is where you may choose to stop. I decided to add text in "Impact" size 14

It's finished!
Well, that was fun and enriching.
I would love to know if this was helpful, therefore comments are greatly appreciated. And I would love even more to see what you make :) And if you have any questions feel free to ask, I have a feeling I may have been vauge at some parts.
